Industry Entities & Roles

What is a record label?

A record label is a company or brand that owns or licenses the masters to your recorded music and manages their production, distribution, marketing, and promotion.
Note: You must secure clear, written rights from every performer and composer before release.

Rights & Licensing

What constitutes a sound recording (master)?

A sound recording is the fixed audio performance of a musical work, protected by copyright separate from the composition.
Note: Masters can be owned by artists, producers, or labels and licensed for exploitation.

Rights Enforcement & Claims

How does YouTube Content ID work?

Content ID is YouTube’s fingerprinting system that scans uploads against your registered masters/compositions, letting you monetize, block, or track unauthorized uses.
Note: Enroll your catalog to auto-claim or share ad revenue on fan uploads.

Identifiers & Registration

What are ISRCs and UPCs?

– ISRC: Unique code for each recording (12 characters).

– UPC/EAN: Unique code for each release (album or single).

Note: We generate and embed both so your music is globally trackable.

Commitments, Splits & Advances

What commitments must I make?

You grant exclusive distribution & collection rights, ensure all content is licensed, and provide no unlicensed samples or AI-generated music.

Note: Exclusivity avoids conflicts and maximizes your royalty share.

Distribution & Delivery

How long does distribution take?

Once you submit all audio files and metadata, most stores go live in 24–72 hours; some smaller outlets may take up to a week.

Note: Submit at least one week before your target date for marketing lead time.

Account Issues & DSP Policies

If my DSP account is suspended, what can you do?

Our 24/7 support engages DSP reps, submits expedited appeals, and sets up interim revenue-holding accounts until reinstatement.
Note: You also choose which DSPs continue receiving new releases.

Metadata & Technical Specs

What file formats and specs do you accept?

• Audio: WAV, MP3, FLAC (16- or 24-bit, 44.1–96 kHz; 48 kHz WAV recommended)

• Artwork: JPG, 3000×3000 px RGB, no URLs/QR codes/logos/nudity

• Video: .MOV/.MP4 (ProRes 422/422 HQ, MPEG-2, H.264), up to 30 GB, 720p+ HD
Note: Non-compliant files are rejected—and we can assist with minor replacements while preserving stream counts.

Special Content & Pre-Orders

What is Dolby Atmos Music?

A premium spatial-audio format delivering object-based mixes that render on headphones, soundbars, and multi-speaker setups.
Note: Requires stems upload—available on select DSPs (Apple Music, Tidal).

Onboarding & Account Management

How do I sign up?

Complete our online form with your artist/label details. We’ll onboard you, migrate any existing catalog, and have you live in days, not weeks.
Note: No long-term lock-ins—cancel anytime with 30 days’ notice.

Marketing, Promotion & Growth

Do you promote to radio and press?

Yes—we run targeted radio campaigns, electronic press kits, and outreach to blogs, podcasts, and magazines.
Note: Submit assets at least 4–6 weeks before release—placements aren’t guaranteed; we pitch your tracks and, if they like them, they take them.
